As the state capital of Lower Saxony, Hanover is home to ministries, state authorities, chambers and a long list of associations. Their websites rarely have a design problem, but they often have a structural one: many editors, graded permissions, press areas, event calendars, member content behind a login. Add universities and a strong insurance sector, where the website connects to specialist applications and legacy systems. In organisations like these, what matters is not who can sketch a home page fastest, but who keeps the system on a supported version for years and documents clearly what was done to it.
The trade fair shapes the city's economy well beyond the fair weeks themselves. Manufacturers from mechanical engineering, drive and automation technology show their new products here, and many automotive suppliers are based in the region anyway. For them, the real business starts after the fair: trade customers want to reorder spare parts, accessories and consumables without calling the field sales team every time. Then there is retail and logistics, which benefit from Hanover's position where major north–south and east–west routes cross. For all of these companies, a shop is only as good as its data exchange with ERP and warehouse.
A typical brief from Hanover: after the fair, visitors should be able to reorder in the shop on exactly the terms the sales team agreed at the stand. With Shopware 6 we build B2B shops like that, with customer groups, tiered pricing and ERP integration, plus a B2C channel for end customers on the same installation if needed. Support starts at go-live: every patch release runs on a staging copy first, plugins stay compatible, and logs, queues and backups are monitored. A maintenance contract with an SLA makes it binding — 24, 8, 4 or 2 hours response time, monthly fee per shop on request.
At associations, chambers and state institutions in Hanover, TYPO3 has often been in place for many years — which becomes a risk once the version falls behind. TYPO3 v12 has not received free security updates since the end of April 2026. The way up leads to TYPO3 v14 LTS: review extensions, migrate custom code, switch over on a test instance while the existing site stays live. New portals start straight on v14, with roles for editing and approval. After that we take on maintenance: assessing security bulletins, applying patches, minor updates on a fixed schedule, PHP and database kept on supported versions.
Hanover has plenty of agencies of its own. So Sharpness (Oldenburg) is not an option because of short distances, but because of its focus on Shopware and TYPO3, and because development, hosting on our own servers in Germany and support stay with one team. Kick-off and key workshops take place at your premises in Hanover by arrangement — preferably outside the big trade fair weeks, when roads and hotels are full. Development and support run remotely, with named contacts and documented decisions. You can reach us Monday to Thursday, 9:00 to 16:00, and Friday, 9:00 to 13:00 CET, on +49 441 21 21 63 0.
