Bremen's economy is built on exchange: ports and logistics, wholesale and foreign trade, the food and luxury food industry, aerospace, car manufacturing. In these sectors an online shop rarely stands on its own. It depends on the ERP, on supplier catalogues, on forwarding data and on the procurement systems of large buyers. A website there is often a portal for dealers, partners or applicants, with content in several languages. For us this means that in Bremen projects interfaces are not an extra line in the quote but usually the core — and the part that needs the most attention in operation.
Besides industry and the port, Bremen has a dense landscape of university, colleges and research institutes, plus chambers, associations and — as a city state — state authorities and publicly owned organisations. Their websites follow different rules from a shop: many editors in different departments, staged approvals, multilingual content, accessibility to WCAG 2.2 AA. Often there is a TYPO3 installation that was set up years ago and has grown with every department since. We take over systems like these, bring them up to date and keep them there. Because the backend has been redesigned in TYPO3 v14, a short training session for editors is part of it — so that the switch does not slow anyone down in daily work.
For Bremen wholesalers and exporters, suppliers and food manufacturers we build B2B shops with Shopware 6: customer-specific prices, framework terms, customer hierarchies with head office and branches, approvals before an order goes out. If your buyers order through an e-procurement system, we connect the catalogue via OCI or punch-out; products, prices and stock come from ERP and PIM through documented interfaces. Where consumers buy, a B2C channel runs in the same system. In operation we monitor exactly these routes — imports, message queue, payment callbacks — and test every update of the 6.7 line on staging. The SLA in the maintenance contract determines whether we respond within 24, 8, 4 or 2 hours.
TYPO3 plays to its strengths where Bremen organisations have to bring a lot of content, many editors and several languages together — in an institute's portal as much as in the dealer area of an industrial company. New websites and portals we build on TYPO3 v14 LTS. For older installations we plan the upgrade path: extension audit, adaptation of custom extensions, a test instance running alongside the live site; where a relaunch is already scheduled, ELTS can bridge the time until then. In operation the rule is: when a TYPO3 security bulletin appears, we know the same day whether your system is affected, and the patch goes live via staging.
We are not based in Bremen and do not pretend to be. Our office is in Oldenburg, around 50 minutes away via the A28. For kick-off, requirements workshops and acceptance we come to you, as agreed — especially with interface projects it pays to get purchasing, sales and IT around one table at least once. Ongoing development and support we organise remotely, with a fixed contact, video calls and a ticket system. You can reach us Monday to Friday, 9:00 to 16:00 CET, on +49 441 21 21 63 0; cover outside those hours is only available with on-call duty agreed in the SLA.
